and some other guy was going to too.
some lady was stuck in the middle of the road. It looked as if she has been waiting in line at the red light and the Highlander just died. Well now your in the way. I pulled over and said for her to climb in and i’d puch her off to the side. “o no thats ok i’ll just stay here, I called AAA” i just said ok and walked away. As I was walking back to the Allroad, another guy, who looked like he probably could have picked the car up and carried it away, asked if I was going to push her off the road. I said, no she wants to stay there. He said wow thats dumb, maybe with a could other words in there and drove off. I’m guessing a lot of people were thinking bad things about her.

“You need to move your vehicle to the shoulder or I can get a cop to tell you the same thing.” Done.

I always try to offer help when I can, but it seems no one ever accepts help any more...
Funny story... last night after installing my broken English headlight harness I went for a drive in the county to try out my new ability to see the road ahead. I came up over a hill and found a county police Dodge Charger with its back wheels sunken in the ditch (3 point turn fail). I’m driving a lifted Jeep which of course has myriad vehicle recovery gear inside as well as a winch on the front, so I offered assistance... I sorta knew they’d say no. Oh well.

Not too long ago I was sitting at a light waiting to turn left, and a couple vehicles ahead of me was an old Ram. The light changes, the Ram moves ahead about six feet then stops (no brake lights). We sit there a little bit, the Ram’s four-ways come on, guy gets out, pops the hood open. The guy in the pretty new Chevy sitting behind him hops out to have a chat. Both trucks were much bigger than my MJ so I made sure the traffic was clear and went around on the right. Three hours later I came back that way, and the Ram was still sitting in the exact same spot, four-ways still going, with a horrible knot of traffic behind it.
At the time I assumed neither of the two had a strap, and I should have stuck around. Maybe I was mistaken...

Wait, wait, wait....
You mean to tell me it wasn’t the Allroad that needed a push? Something seems fishy here...

Yesterday morning I got delayed maybe 5-10 minutes on the way to work because a 2014+ Durango was just sitting broken down in the right lane of a busy 2-lane road with a huge shoulder next to them. Delaying hundreds of people when all they needed to do was move their car 10 feet. Made me wonder: these new FCA cars have electronic shifters - can they get stuck in park? Is there a mechanical override somewhere? Anyway, just like left lane campers, there needs to be real consequences or it won’t change. Cops need to be out there giving tickets to drivers stopped in travel lanes with flashers on that aren’t making any effort to move to a shoulder/parking lot/etc.
